The Programmatic and Social marketing team is responsible for marketing the company’s products, initiatives, and services to customers through digital marketing. Its approach is to embrace the strength of its marketplace and pace of innovation to drive marketing programs that are as entrepreneurial, data-driven, and innovative as the company itself. The team owns a variety of areas including search engine marketing & optimization, affiliate marketing, partnership relations, display advertising, real-time bidding, mobile, social, and data analytics. The North America Programmatic Marketing team owns the areas of programmatic advertising, paid social media, real-time bidding and programmatic buying, and display/social innovation strategy. The team is divided between Programmatic and Social buying platforms and Strategic Campaigns.


The Social Media Solutions Lead will develop and oversee media buying technology solutions across Prospecting, Re-engagement and Remarketing campaigns on social media platforms. The goal of these solutions is to drive potential StubHub customers to purchase tickets in the US and Canada to start. International expansion is on the roadmap for later this year. This individual will also direct a large number of concurrent campaigns, managing creative asset delivery, timely launches, effective delivery, media buying, ad agency/technology management, and post-campaign reporting. This includes managing all interactions between respective internal teams and the respective agencies, technologies and publishers.


  • Ideate, plan and execute comprehensive and aligned social marketing strategies & media plans through cooperation with external agencies/technologies, internal marketing channel operators, and other partners.

  • Relentlessly focus on new and existing customers and promote customer-led marketing strategies and innovations to deliver revenue for StubHub across prospecting, re-engagement, remarketing programs.

  • Oversee and develop social media buying solutions that leverage social media platforms and technologies.

  • Ensure alignment of programmatic and social programs to maximize the success of these tactics.

  • Drive successful results against aggressive brand, revenue, and efficiency targets.

  • Be the resident expert in Social Media buying platforms.

  • Innovate around new creative formats, technologies, tracking, and media formats.

  • Successfully execute complex integrated consumer marketing campaigns ensuring on time campaign launches, budget pacing, and goal achievement.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate should be a highly motivated self-starter with a demonstrated strong academic and professional performance. The position requires someone who is analytical, organized, and detail-oriented with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment. In addition, the ideal candidate works well with outside partners and has internet industry experience.

  • 8+ years of professional experience in consumer marketing; ideal candidate will have at least 4+ years in social media buying.

  • Knowledge of the online advertising industry, social media platforms, ad network capabilities, publisher landscape, RTB, industry trends, and technologies.

  • Proven success in Social media advertising for performance marketing.

  • Proven career path in developing solutions on social media buying platforms.

  • Experienced in managing external agencies/technologies and partners and working with internal, cross functional teams in a matrix organization.

  • Positive, can-do attitude; must be experienced at effective communication and fostering teamwork.

  • Entrepreneurial spirit / ability to try different things with minimal direction.

  • Bachelor degree (or equivalent) required. MBA or other advanced degree preferred.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills in English required; French or Spanish a plus.


The Social Media Solutions Lead will be based in San Francisco, CA and report directly to the Director, Programmatic and Social.
