The design team is a small group of makers passionate about creating amazing experiences. We set a high bar for quality, we care about details, and we think that the best way of moving projects forward is working closely with product and engineering. We are looking for a principal product designer to help us drive cohesion and clarity across the different Yammer clients and experiences.

As a principal designer at Yammer, you will be working closely with research, product and the rest of the design team to develop and implement our design vision, defining team priorities and identify gaps and opportunities to work with the Office Product Design group. In this position, you will be very close to the pixels, participating in projects, delivering wireframes, mocks and prototypes that can help you validate design decisions. You will need to follow up with engineers to ensure the design is implemented effectively.



  • 5+ years experience in a product design role, with a strong portfolio showcasing both interaction and visual.

  • 1+ years in mentoring or managing other designers.

  • You a have solid grounding in a user-centered design process and ability to leverage research insights to identify user needs, explore, iterate, and define solutions that we can validate with users.

  • You have excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with a proven history of influencing teams to action.

  • You collaborate well with research, product, and engineering to uncover opportunities and find solutions to the right problems to solve.

  • You’re a clear and articulate communicator. You’re deliberate about your design approach, and you rely on feedback from the team and users to iterate. You’re ready to take ownership of the design of a complex, growing product.

  • You thrive in a team-oriented, collaborative, and energetic environment.
