The Inventory Analyst assists in the development, execution and communication of merchandise financial and inventory plans and strategies that support the merchandising, marketing, and financial objectives of a division(s).
Collaborating + Influencing
Assist in managing the financialsuccess of a division(s) by meeting sales, gross margin and inventoryproductivity goals.
Analyze historical data and currenttrends. Identify risks and opportunities by division/department or class andsolicit ideas for issue resolution.
Participate in formulation ofpre-season strategy with Buyer
Participate in reconciliation oftop-down to bottom-up plans.
Recap and review actual salesperformance weekly/monthly to plan/forecast.
Partner with Buyer to identifyrisks/opportunities and develop action plans to achieve financial goals (opento buy).
Re-forecast sales and manageinventory for all basic styles to meet financial goals.
Own formulation of the divisionalflow forecast and allocation strategies that support achieving or exceeding thefinancial plans of the division.
Partner with planner in implementingdivision level markdowns and promo events.
Participate in meetings withknowledge of prepared materials.
Communicate financial results tomanager and cross-functional team on a weekly basis.
Able to build and maintainproductive relationships with planning and cross-functional teams
Provide manager and planner withtimely feedback on personal developmental and training needs.
Actively participate in companysponsored planner training programs.
Abilityto organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
Demonstrateslogical analysis and problem solving skills
Possessesan ability to understand financial measurements and how to impact them
Demonstratesstrong listening, written and oral communication skills
Ableto build and maintain productive relationships
Technologyproficiency, including the ability or aptitude to learn technical applications
Proficientin Microsoft Excel
Bachelor'sdegree or equivalent experience required
1-2years analytical experience, preferably in a specialty retail environment
Mustbe able to operate a computer
