Position will involve counseling marketing and product teams on a variety of campaign marketing efforts.
Advise on legal clearance to clients operating in diverse marketing and advertising platforms, including traditional media, digital, social media, email, SMS and mobile applications.
Drafting and reviewing website and program terms and conditions, promotional offer terms, contest and sweepstakes rules, disclosures, FAQs.
Review press releases and related communications.
Drafting and negotiating a variety of marketing and sponsorship agreements including releases.
Manage and drive effective resolution of competitive advertising law, sweepstakes and promotions and sponsorships.
Provide strategic legal advice and counseling to business partners on business initiatives and issues; proactively identify potential liability and reputational risks and collaborate with business partners on creative and practical solutions to help advance business objectives.
Develop and drive implementation of measures to mitigate risk, increase speed and efficiency.
Manage complex legal matters, cross-functional teams, and projects.
Education & Experience
Licensed to practice law in the U.S.
3-5 years relevant legal experience in advertising, promotions, privacy and IP law
In-house experience preferred
Prior experience of in-house marketing programs
Creative problem-solving skills
Practical and business-focused mindset with ability to balance legal risk with business impact.
Able to cut through complexity to distill the most important issues
Able to work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
Strong interpersonal and team building skills
Strong individual contributor who thrives on a team
