& Technical Services (CPTS) is seeking anAerospace Systems Subject Matter Expert 2to provide support to
NASA - AMES Research Center (ARC) within the Information Technology Services. TheAerospace
Systems Subject Matter Expert 2will support multiple tasks and projects,
which includes working with aerospace systems in the design and evaluation
stages as well as the integration for optimal performance.

design criteria for aerospace systems, including testing methods, quality
standards, and completion dates.
and conducts experimental, operational, and stress tests on models of aerospace
systems and equipment.
mathematical models or other methods of computer analysis to develop, evaluate,
or modify design according to customer engineering requirements.
systems data and design from inspections and reports for conformance to
engineering principles, customer requirements, and quality standards.
complex systems to determine potential for further development, production,
interoperability, compatibility, or usefulness in a particular area, such as aviation.
technical reports and other documentation, such as handbooks and bulletins, for
use by engineering staff, management, and customers.
publications/reports or presentations summarizing results or conclusions of
human factors engineering activities, such as testing, investigation, or
independently across multiple platforms and applications to understand

duties may be focused in the following areas based on need and/or experience:
Systems Engineering – Performing systems modeling, concepts of operation
development, requirements development and review, verification planning and
closure assessment, and overall architecture analysis and data integration
Human Factors – Plans, conducts, and summarizes studies of flight, airport,
and/or unmanned aerial systems (UAS) simulations. Provides support for human autonomy
research/experiments, including human autonomy teaming, air-ground simulation,
statistical analysis, rebuilding/enhancing simulators.
Systems – Participate in designing, testing and calibrating avionic systems
such as communication panels. Design aircraft integration solutions avionics
aircraft system components and assist in aircraft testing.

Degree in Aerospace Engineering or related engineering or science field
(6) to Ten (10) years of related experience
have demonstrated problem solving ability and expertise in 1 (one) or more of
the following areas:
wing or fixed wing flight control system analysis/design
(RF/IR/EO) signature tools
flight operating system concepts
be able to obtain required NASA badge.
be able to provide a certified Birth Certificate (with state seal), Passport,
or INS Citizenship documents on date of hire (candidate will be sent home if
this paperwork is not provided upon arrival on date of hire).
have, and maintain, a valid driver’s license.

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering or related engineering or science field
Six (6) to Ten (10) years of related experience
Must have demonstrated problem solving ability and expertise in 1 (one) or more of the following areas:
Advanced user-interface technology
Air traffic control
Rotary wing or fixed wing flight control system analysis/design
Radio-frequency/infrared/electro-optical (RF/IR/EO) signature tools
Real-time flight operating system concepts
Must be able to obtain required NASA badge.
Must be able to provide a certified Birth Certificate (with state seal), Passport, or INS Citizenship documents on date of hire (candidate will be sent home if this paperwork is not provided upon arrival on date of hire).
