Clinical Nurse (RN), Cutaneous Surgery (Redwood City) .001 FTE, 8 hour day shifts Clinic is open Monday - Friday The Dermatology Surgery Clinic is located mid-peninsula of the Bay Area at the Stanford Outpatient Center in Redwood City. It is a very busy, fast-paced practice that sees approximately 30 patients/day. The types of procedures that are done in the clinic are: Laser resurfacing and hair removal, cosmetic procedures, Mohs Surgery, and Botox injections. The Nursing responsibilities include: Provides local numbing, cauterization, removal of sutures, set-up lasers, pre-op patients for cosmetic appointments, discharge/care plans. Completing any Pre-op phone calls, orders for medication, patient education, same day follow-up, any paperwork that needs to be completed, EPIC documentation/charting, CRM (CRM: Customer resolution mgmt.), responding to "My Health" requests. We are looking for nurses that have outpatient procedural experience or same day surgery experience. Cosmetic/Laser experience is a plus. The Clinical Nurse (CN) is an RN who provides hands-on care to patients, practicing in an evidence- based manner, within the Scope of Practice of the California Nursing Practice Act, regulatory requirements, standards of care, and hospital policies. Within that role, the CN performs all steps of the nursing process including assessing patients; interpreting data; planning, implementing, and evaluating care; coordinating care with other providers; and teaching the patient and family the knowledge and skills needed to manage their care and prevent complications . The CN partners with the patient's family wherever possible, considering all aspects of care, to deliver family centered care. As a professional, monitors the quality of nursing care provided. The Clinical Nurse is responsible for his/her own professional development, including licensure, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and maintaining current knowledge regarding the assigned patient population.
