Kforce has a client seeking a Systems/Software Engineering VII in Palo Alto, CA.Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for the direction of the software systems development function, including the design, development, troubleshooting and debugging of software programs

  • Oversees the development of software for operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases, etc.

  • Responsible for determining hardware compatibility and/or influencing hardware design

  • Master: Unique mastery and recognized expertise on relevant subject matter knowledge including technologies, theories, or techniques

  • Contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas

  • Successfully operates in the most complex disciplines in which the company must operate to be successful

  • Provides highly innovative solutions

  • Routinely exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and criteria for achieving objectives

  • Develops strategy and sets functional policy and direction

  • Acts as a functional manager within area of expertise but does not manage other employees as a primary job function

  • Leads large, cross-division functional teams or projects that affect the organizations long term goals and objectives

  • May participate in cross-division, multifunction teams

  • Typically, a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 10 plus year's related experience or Master's degree and a minimum of 6 plus years' experience

  • Programming software for operating systems, utilizing machine assembly and/or job control languages and software capabilities
