Job Description

The Sterile Processing (SP) Technician is responsible for supporting the operations of the Sterile Processing Department of the Hospital. The Sterile Processing Technician will participate in the all activities/duties of the Department by following policy and procedure for the decontamination, assembly, sterilization and storage of all patient care instrumentation, equipment and supplies. Performs tasks in decontamination, assembly of instruments, sterilization, and may work in sterile cores of the Operating rooms. Participates in the departmental patient safety and performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent Experience for SPT II Level: Two (2) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience. Certified Registered Central Services Tech (CRCST) - within six (6) months of hire pass the Certified Registered Central Services Tech (CRCST) exam. Once the certification is obtained, it must be maintained
