We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist for a contract opportunity in South San Francisco. This is a 3-6 month contract opportunity for their client in the hi-tech industry. The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing professional Human Resources support for all employees and departments throughout the company. This position reports to the Human Resources Manager. HR Generalist Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the HR activities including benefits administration, medical, dental, life, Flexible Spending Accounts, COBRA, 401(k), ESPP, LOA, worker's compensation, performance reviews, compensation, reduction in force and terminations;

  • Manage aspects of talent acquisition by posting requisitions, tracking applicants, scheduling interviews, and running background checks;

  • Process new hire paperwork;

  • I-9 verification and submission;

  • Train and advise management and employees on Human Resources policies and processes;

  • Provide recommendations for handling employee relations issues as they relate to company policy;

  • Investigate and resolve employee complaints filed with federal agencies involving employment practices or working conditions, utilizing professional resources as necessary;

  • Coordinate and research unemployment claims;

  • Manage and maintain Leave of Absence information in HRM/Internal interfaces;

  • Assisted with administration of year-end performance appraisal process;

  • Plan and execute employee training and social events as needed;

  • Other related duties as require.

Requirements: HR Generalist Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration or equivalent experience;

  • Two+ years of experience working in a Human Resources Generalist capacity;

  • Excellent skills in building and maintaining internal client relationships;

  • Experience in the full range of HR functional areas including, but not limited to: employee relations, legal compliance, and employee development;

  • Strong analytical, planning skills, and strategic thinking required;

  • General knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations;

  • Exceptional time management, project management, prioritization, and organizational skills require;

  • Ability to utilize HRM systems for reporting and auditing purposes;

  • Possess advanced skills and professional experience in the areas of people management and conflict resolution with tact and discretion;

  • Must be able to function in stressful situations;

  • Must possess the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management both verbally and in writing.
