Responsibilities

This position serves as a Property Manager in the Material Management Division of the Logistics Service in the VA Health Care System responsible for the inventory and lifecycle management of all non-expendable (NX) equipment in the assigned area(s). Major duties and responsibilities include:

  • Lifecycle Management: responsible for the lifecycle management of non-expendable assets; conducts short, mid and long-term advanced planning; analyzes data; supports customers and acquisition personnel in developing requirements, utilizing mandatory sources and standardization sources; and corresponds with procurement officials and other stakeholders to resolve issues;
  • Inventory Management and Control: responsible for the management and control of NX equipment assets; serves as the point of contact for the coordination of material support and resolution of logistic problems; conducts forecasting and quantitative analysis; conducts spot checks; and complies with special requirements for firearms, ammunition and sensitive equipment;
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Work Schedule:Monday to Friday-8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement

Specialized Experience:

Applicants must have One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-07) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:

  • maintaining inventory control records in an automated system;
  • managing a property management program and determining the means and methods to resolve issues and improve operations;
  • determining required souirces of equipment, purchase card program and simplified acquisition procedrues
  • researching and analyzing information to include tracing sequences of inventory management transactions;
  • advising on the management, control and accountability of equipment in use.

Applicants may substitute education for the experience required for the GS-09 level when they possess one of the following degrees:

master's or equivalent graduate degree

or

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.B. or J.D., if related

OR

Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at the GS-XX level. To calculate, first identify the percentage of required education you have earned (when substituting, you cannot use the first 60 semester hours that you earned). Then identify the percentage of required experience you possess. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify at the GS-XX. For example, an applicant who has 9 semester hours of graduate level education (i.e. 50% of graduate education required) and 6 months of creditable specialized experience (i.e. 50% of the required experience) would equal 100% of the required experience for the position
