The RealReal Photo Editor in San Francisco, California

The Photo Editor will play a critical role on the creative team, developing the look of the site on a daily basis and building relationships with photographers and photo agencies to further enhance the brand. A robust knowledge of fashion trends and strong editorial eye are key for success in this role. This person will report to the Editorial Director.


  • Create the look of the homepage on a daily basis by selecting images from multiple resources, including in-house photography and outside partner agencies, always keeping in mind the brand and the customer experience.

  • Partner with creative and the merchandising team to ensure the site communicates key messages through its visuals, aligns with campaign creative, and highlights seasonally relevant merchandise.

  • Manage the production and upload of all site assets, overseeing the Graphic Design Administrative Support role, to ensure all assets maintain our style standards and are delivered correctly.

  • Partner with merchants and stylists to ensure that images and product are being shot that best fulfill the needs of the homepage.

  • Source new photographers and design new graphic treatments, to keep site content feeling fresh.

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree a plus.

  • 3+ years of professional experience, preferably in an e-commerce photo department.

  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills including the ability to meet external and internal deadlines is required.

  • Team player able to work effectively and collaboratively across all departments to meet goals and deadlines.

  • Ability to handle changes and feedback, and pivot quickly as necessary.

  • Skilled at photoshop.

  • Experience managing photo databases preferred.
