The Mobile Team at Goodreads is focused in bringing the best Goodreads experience to native mobile users, through our Android/Fire, iOS and eInk apps. We are looking for engineers, passionate about reading and mobile technologies, who can contribute to enhancing the reading experience for our Goodreads and Amazon readers.

As a Goodreads mobile engineer, you are creative and have a strong sense of ownership. You will think holistically about how our apps serve our members, and your ideas and contributions will help to drive the product in innovative new directions. You will work in a highly collaborative environment on enhancing the user experience, improving the performance, reliability, accessibility, and usability of our apps.   • Strong Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis

  • Experience working with client-server applications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science

  • Interest in working with and publishing Android or iOS apps

  • 1+ year’s professional experience in software development

  • Experience with multi-threading / asynchronous logic

  • Understanding of the HTTP/S and networking protocols

  • Knowledge/Experience w/ Javascript

  • Enjoyment and experience in sharing knowledge and teaching others.

  • Passion for discovering, reading, and sharing books
