Principal Automation Engineer

Principal Engineer– Productivity and Quality Engineering-LCM

This position is for a Staff/Principal

engineer for SaaS LCM Quality Engineering group. The candidate will be

responsible for jointly designing and developing software for Oracle Public

Cloud in collaboration with other development, QA Engineers and Product

Management. In addition, candidate will be expected to have deep

understanding of the design of features of the Oracle software stack, and to

give explicit design input and test ability feedback.

This is a hands on role, taking new ideas from concept to cloud readiness,

assessing that readiness, and the results. Leadership capability and

experience are needed to influence others and to technically lead a team in

this implementation.

Requirements

  • Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs fordatabases, applications, tools, networks etc.

  • As a member of the software engineering division, you will take anactive role in the definition and evolution of standard practices andprocedures.

  • Define specifications for significant new projects and specify,design and develop software according to those specifications. You will performprofessional software development tasks associated with the developing,designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

  • Provide leadership and expertise in the development of newproducts/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge oftechnology.

  • Recommend and justify major changes to existingproducts/services/processes.

Skills

required:

  • Development background, with experience inany one of the programming/scripting languages: Java, Python, Groovy

  • Hands on Unix / Linux (Oracle Ent LinuxPreferred)

  • Experience working in Agile / Devops teams (experienceworking with JIRA / GIT / Jenkins)

  • Virtualization technology experience (Xen,OVM, Vmware)a must.

  • Experience working on daily /weekly builds ,CI/CD pipeline

  • Oracle Tech Stack experience highlydesirable.

  • An eye for detail and testing mindset.

  • Experience in engineering automation frameworks.

  • Any experience with Sourcecode review / debugging is a plus.

Education:

  • BS orMS degree in computer science or equivalent experience relevant to functionalarea.

  • 8 more years of software engineering or related experience.
