Development Engineer, serverless technologies
We are seeking an experienced software engineer to help research, define, and develop a serverless product for use on vSphere and other cloud platforms. The ideal candidate is familiar with open source cloud projects, distributed application architecture, building out microservice designs, and has a strong skill of coding and debugging. Understanding the needs of customers designing and developing their cloud native applications will be key to the success of this product.
Job Role & Responsibilities:
The development engineer will be responsible for architecting, designing, and coding the serverless product from inception, adoption, monetization to sustaining. He(she) will work in a team to implement or incubate innovative serverless products, prototypes or solutions in the space of the cloud native applications delivery for our customers.
Required qualification & experience:
4+ years hands-on experience of software engineering in organizations such as platform, cloud or infrastructure software R&D.;
Experience designing applications using public cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure);
Excellent knowledge on Linux operating systems, esp. Linux Container, networking and security;
Good knowledge on virtualization and cloud management stack, experience on VMware vSphere platform is a plus;
Familiar with at least one of Container, PaaS or IaaS projects like Docker, CoreOS, Mesos Kubernetes, Openstack and Cloud Foundry;
Familiar with open source project life cycle management tool chains like Git, Jenkins, Gerrit;
Experience with devops and familiar with agile development process;
Familiar with API usage and design
Understanding of microservice architecture for next generation cloud native apps;
Passion for innovation from platform & infrastructure solutions; passion for delighting developer, IT admin & end-user experience;
- BS/MS or equivalent experience in CS/EE;
