Sutter Health MRI Aide- Diagnostic Imaging- Burlingame (Part Time) in Burlingame, California

The MRI Aide works closely with the MRI technologist in an ancillary support position. Position accountabilities include:

  1. Accurately prepares room and patient for procedure, assuring all needed exam equipment is available prior to the start of the exam

  2. Using two patient identifiers collects the patient either from the waiting room and may be required to transport from patient room in-house.

  3. Ensures the patient has been properly changed and ready to enter the MRI room.Collect patient medical information by interviewing the patient, family or significant other and other health care providers.

  4. Works with MRI technologist to complete assessments by utilizing the medical record and radiology requisition(s) to ensure appropriateness of procedures ordered.

  5. Ensures effective interaction with patient by utilizing an empathetic approach.

  6. Ensures that patients are able to ambulate on their own or are given the proper ambulation support.

  7. Prepare patients for painless transition on to MRI table. Establishes appropriate and effective communication with patient and/or family members throughout patient’s visit to MPHS.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • BLS (AHA) certification

  • Prior work in Imaging Facility (MRI) office preferred

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Must be able to lift correctly using proper body mechanics
